E0202 – Inventory step by step. Receiving.


  • The warehouse receive from client a fax, an  email or a call  to  advertise a new  entry  in stock.
  • A new “contract” is create in the  Millo-WLMS with the “3 W” pre-arrival ‘s information (who, what, when).
    • The minimum information the system needs is:–the arrival will be by truck, container or wagon. (identify  by  T, C or W letter)..
  • For work with receiving dispatch, People have to know only six (6) codes:
    • RTL: Receive Truck Loaded,  RCL: Receive Container Loaded, RWL: Receive Loaded Wagon,
    • RTE: Receive Truck Empty,    RCE: Receive Container Empty,  RWE: Receive Wagon Empty.
  • As soon as the carrier call for an appointment, the carrier’s name, the date and the hour are  put  in the system.
    • A white line appears on the receiving dispatch screen to indicate an INCOMMING .
  • Detailed on receiving can be put in the system via FTP-IN server on xml or csv file.
    • The white line change for a green line on the receiving dispatch screen to indicate the file is loaded correctly.
  • A “pre-arrival notice” report is print with the barcode’s receiving number.
  • When the trailer or the container is ready to unloaded, the employees scan the barcode on the pre-arrival notice (ie: RTL10238-1). The counter clock is automatic set to on.
  • Each person that work on receiving must log in the system with his  scan reader.
  • All stat and end time of each transaction are log in Millo-WLMS.
  • If the stock received doesn’t have labels, the labels are printed and apposed on skids or boxes
  • Each skid’s label or each box label (if it exists a serial number for each box) is scan and move to receiving dispatch area or to final location.
  • When all stock is on warehouse floor, and the last barcode is read, the “F10” function key is pressed on the barcode’s reader, and the final receiving report is printed.
  • The final receiving on which the supervisor has write notes and sign,   is  scan with  the  form-feed scanner.
  • The receiving can be sent directly to the client by email or fax. It’s the proof the stock is in the warehouse.
    • The green line change for a yellow line on the receiving dispatch screen to indicate the stock is receiving and is waiting to locate in the warehouse.
  • The stock is relocate. Each skid or box is move and associate  with the location number with a  hand scanner or a lift scanner.
  • When all stock is in racks,
    • The yellow line change for a grey line on the receiving dispatch screen that indicate the move of stock is completed.
